Bold, Punchy, Novel words sell travel.
Busted! This expensive myth is costing you leads, conversions, and money.
I’m dispelling the idea that even the most idyllic destinations, experiences, and travel products will sell themselves on words alone
(yes, even the right words).
Travel is inherently sexy, alluring, and hypnotic. Who needs to be persuaded to want in on that? We naturally crave getting swept away in its tide. So why is it so hard to encapsulate it? We’re trained to think that if we can just avoid the threadbare, worn-down “crystal- clear beaches”, “hidden gem”, “off the beaten path” and “once-in-a-lifetime-trip” cliche-talk, and find the novel words no one has thought to use yet, that it will be enough to sell the travel dream.
But that thought process is costing you so many sales.
Yes, you need words that work; no, that is not all. Queue in the messaging ecosystem— translating your offer into something your audience can feel before they ever arrive through strategy, structure, and storytelling.
IT’S SO GOOD TO FINALLY MEET YOU! I’M CALI, BTW
I’m a writer and traveler who fused my two lifelong passions into my dream job- a Travel Copywriter. But I’d be selling myself way short to say I’m just a writer who knows the travel industry. When I write, my main goal is for you to ultimately make more sales. In order to do that, I must become a Buyer’s Pyschologist, Travel Advisor, SEO-Specialist, Storyteller Strategist, Voice Impersonator, Trend-Analyzer, and Analytics-Queen. That means all your copy is packed and backed by some real powerhouse methods that should translate to more eyes on you, more yesses, and more sales.
I’m that travel writer girl who really knows her stuff.
After 10 years working as a Media Marketer and Strategist for some big names in the home DIY industry (head over to my LinkedIn if you’re curious about who, I name-drop 👀), and having access to plenty of analytics, there was no denying the impact words have. With the revelation that I could get paid to write about whatever I want, Cali Copywrite Co. was founded.
Because when I write for your travel brand, I’m not just choosing the right words—I’m applying a decade of marketing and audience insight, real-world understanding of global travel and cultural nuance, and proven strategies that turn attention into action
So whether I’m writing SEO-driven blog content, a long-form sales page, or a full launch funnel, every piece is built with intention. Not just to sound good—but to perform.
So your messaging reflects its full value, connects with the right audience, and ultimately—gets it booked.
Your Travel Business x Travel Copywriter
So then, why do you need my expertise? Well, simply put, you have a travel business and I have the credentials to make all your wildest dreams come true. But not in a fairytale way, in a really methodical way. One that has been developed and refined over the course of a decade. That means all your copy is packed and backed by some real powerhouse methods that will have more eyes on your content. One that includes psychology, rhythm, stories, and personality.
I’ll position your offer in a way that builds anticipation, trust, and urgency so that no words are wasted to explaining instead of positioning, describing instead of selling, and iInspiring—but not converting
Every piece of my copy is built to capture attention and hold it, guide your audience seamlessly through your offer, and turn interest into clear, confident decisions so that it Brings in more of the right people—and convert them into paying clients.
Now if you’ll excuse you, you’ve got your own very important business to attend to, like sitting back and enjoying more reading by the pool, spontaneous sunsets with friends, or whatever it is you’d like more free time to do, all while your copy consistently works to do the heavy lifting for your business.
Some things I’d share about myself if I were ever in a ‘let’s go around the room and introduce ourselves and share a fun fact’ situation:
01 I’m a frequent flyer to the Skyscanner ‘Everywhere” section
02 I’m daily checking in on that Euro/ Dollar exchange rate to see if it has nudged in my favor (it hasn’t in years)
03 This summer you can find me at the lake house hanging with my hens (affectionately named One, Two, Three, and Four) or tending to my fruit, vegetable, and flower gardens
04 I’m never not thinking about this one spicy pepper and chicken dish I had when I studied abroad in South Korea 11 years ago
05 My traveling style is to slow-travel a place for a month so that I can leisurely fit into a month what most people cram into a weekend
06 I prefer researching travel destinations by reading blog posts I find on Pinterest. Please never stop blogging, travel influencers!!
07 I allot very little time for touristy things. I usually end up sitting at the beach or a park with a picnic made up of all new-to-me grocery store finds, putzing away a morning at a flea market, or trying out a coffee shop I hadn’t researched ahead of time (hello type-b traveler).
08 I am a major country and city repeater
09 I love 2-for-1s, like how I’ve combined my love for pets and travel and have pet sat for over 100 dogs, cats, bunnies, tropical fish, and even ducks spanning 13 countries (I am also a pet sit repeater so hit me up if you ever need one), so eventually combining my love for writing with travel to become a Travel Copywriter only made sense
“So, what made you decide to partner with businesses exclusively in the travel industry?” -most of my clients
The answer lies within my childhood fixation. (You know, that one thing that endlessly consumed your fascination? Mine was Germany.)
Growing up, my dad used to read me Aschenputtel before bed, I strong-armed my brothers into learning the language with me, and even begged my parents to let me do an exchange year there during high school (spoiler: they didn’t go for it).
Still, I remained a proper fanatic and later chose a university with an intensive business program that traversed 14 countries (Germany included, of course!).
And it definitely lived up to its decades-long pedestal I’d put it on (actually, so did all the countries. So much so that I ditched my senior year in Chicago to study in Seoul! But hey, why not when you’re an International Business major, am I right?).
I moved to Germany following graduation and realized, through dream-come-true days, that my life course had been changed indefinitely. The world is a force that has the power to deeply expand your mind while exposing its wonders. It feels only natural to align with business owners who distinctly know that altering pull as well.
So there you have it. I let the framework of my fixation guide my passion to bring Cali Copywrite Co. to life. And the clients I get to work with stoke it with life and beautiful purpose.
(psst. You can indulge in the full, unabridged, 1345 word count version here! along with so many more blog posts)
So now you know how the travel bug bit me and now I can’t wait to hear how it got you too!
(More specifically, I can’t wait to learn how your travel business came to be, what unique characteristics and qualities make you stand out from the rest, and how I can help you write in a way that best sells your offers.)
